From Ancient times, Mehndi play an important role for creating beautiful painting, designs on hands and feets. This is practiced in various states of India and also in Africa and Middle East. Henna plant is accepted as to bring love, good fortune and to protect against evil. Mehndi is a temporary art done on the body with henna. Henna powder is prepared from a plant actually it is a bush called as Lawsonia inermis, commonly found in the Middle East and other areas where the climate is hot and dry.

Actually, Mehndi is traditionally practiced for Marriage ceremonies or for some functions of religious joyous celebration. The art of Mehndi has been a long-standing tradition from many ancient cultures it can be said as the tradition is long lasting from about 5,000 years, but is most known today for its history in India.

Today, it is still used in religious and ritualistic ceremonies in India; also it has gained importance and appreciation in other countries as a beautiful art to be appreciated at any time. So now, it the time to say, what exactly is Mehndi?

Henna is used for lots many things such as hair falling, dandruff for conditioning, heat rash relief, and skin conditioner. The upper level of leaves of the plant is best for Mehndi, while the lower level of the plant is used for the other purposes. Henna paste is what is made to apply henna art designs.

In European countries and Polynesian culture of permanent tattoo covered the way for henna design. As henna designs are of temporary nature, the permanent tattoo has mood of the situation. The benefits of henna designs are that they can be removed at any time, being temporary in nature.
